The Rodeo

The rodeo was a fine example of a totally barbaric society, who delights in the pain of people and animals. I seriously can't believe that rodeos are a real thing that people still do. It's like gladiators only worse because in gladiators the animals usually got a chance to kind of fight back. (And here we are thinking we're some kind of "advanced" society) These animals are just abused and then shoved out of the ring to be stuffed in a crate until tomorrow night when they get to do it again. Baby animals even. How scary would that be for these poor animals? They don't know why they are being beaten or tied up or strangled or chased or having their nuts put in a vice. I don't believe "So we can be entertained" is a very good reason for all that.

I'm not some crazy animal rights activist- I'm not a vegetarian even. But I do believe that it is completely and totally wrong to hurt anything more than is necessary, and it's certainly not acceptable to do it for recreation.

What a terrible practice and a cruel way to entertain yourself. Also, the morons who are riding around on bucking horses or whatever are insane. That is so unsafe and stupid and I can't believe anyone would choose "putting horses or cows privates into a groin vice and attempting to riding them for a bit whilst they try to kick it off because it is painful" as a career.

I'm soooo glad that I will probably never have to attend the Ute Stampede again. If I do I'm going to picket.
